About This Yatra
This yatra combines the ancient temple town of Ujjain, home to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga and the famous Bhasma Aarti, with Omkareshwar, an island temple on the Narmada river housing another of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Along the way, the itinerary includes Kal Bhairav Temple, Sandipani Ashram (associated with Lord Krishna's education) and Mangalnath Temple.

Spiritual Significance
Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
Shiva worship has an important place in many traditional astrological remedial practices. Devotees may perform Rudrabhishek, Mahamrityunjaya Jaap or other forms of worship according to family tradition, priestly guidance or astrological consultation. Many travellers also come specifically to experience the temple's Bhasma Aarti.
Mangalnath Temple — Mangal Dosh
Mangalnath is traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Mars (Mangal) according to the Matsya Purana. In Vedic astrology, certain placements of Mars are traditionally described as Mangal Dosh, Manglik Dosh or Kuja Dosha. Families following these traditions sometimes undertake Mangal-related worship at Mangalnath, particularly when a horoscope is considered Manglik. Such rituals are matters of faith and personal practice, not a guarantee of any specific outcome.
Kal Bhairav Temple
