Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga
Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, in Deoghar, Jharkhand, is widely known as Baidyanath Dham and is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in eastern India, drawing devotees from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and beyond.
About the Temple
The main temple, along with a cluster of surrounding shrines within the same complex, is built in traditional North Indian temple style. "Baidyanath" translates roughly to "lord of physicians," and tradition associates the site with healing alongside Shiva worship.
Spiritual Significance
Baidyanath Dham is closely linked with the Kanwar Yatra, in which devotees — known as Kanwariyas — walk long distances carrying Ganga water from Sultanganj to offer at this temple, particularly during the month of Shravan (July–August).

How to Reach

October to March for comfortable weather outside the Shravan season; the month of Shravan (July–August) is spiritually significant but extremely crowded due to the Kanwar Yatra.
